About Us

The Squamish Historical Society recently held our AGM at the state-of-the-art Westcoast Railway Heritage Park Roundhouse.Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting and especially Susan Steen, from the WCRHP who provided the venue, and Mayor Greg Gardner, who was our guest speaker for the evening.

We are in the process of building a centre in the Wilkie House at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park to house and display the rich and diverse history of the Squamish valley. Our new home will provide a fixed venue for visitors interested in local history.The new facility will give us the opportunity to display our growing collection of artifacts, photos, media productions and archival materials.

The building will also be used to host meetings and presentations. You can help us achieve our goal by becoming a member of the SHS or making a donation.

We have been very active in the community and our recent historical displays and video documentaries at the Brennan Park Recreation Centre during the Winter Olympics were well received.
