SHS Membership Meeting

Hope you all had a great summer! The next Squamish Historical Society meeting is this Thursday, September 9th at 7 pm in the multi-purpose room at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. Everyone is welcome.

This summer, the Lions club successfully poured a foundation for the Wilkie Building, which will house displays of the SHS collection and information about our community on the grounds of the WCRHP. We will get a chance to check it out and take a few “Before” photos before the building gets moved onto its foundation in the fall. Take a moment to let us know where to erect the old downtown Rotary clock.

We will also be discussing a proposed weekend Heritage Festival at the CN Round House to take place in 2011. Your input is required.

The Brackendale Fall Fair is coming up quickly, next Saturday, September 11th from 10 am to 5 pm. We will be bringing out Lefty Goldsmith’s kitchen artifacts, playing SHS videos and signing up new members and renewing old. Volunteers will be needed that day to man the booth.
